RECONSTRUCTION

The grounds of Sudeley Castle in Gloucestershire, with its rich 1000 year history, is the setting for annual exhibitions of contemporary sculpture and installation. It is a unique that fuses past, present and future, re-invigorating a historical rural setting with new meanings and interpretations.

Reconstruction was founded in 2004 by Mollie Dent-Brocklehurst and Elliot McDonald. Artists have created exciting and ambitious works in different media, from metal to sound, from topiary to taxidermy. They have worked with the most exciting young and up-and-coming artists such as Conrad Shawcross, as well as established artists such as Damien Hirst, Carsten Hoeller, Tim Noble and Sue Webster and Keith Tyson.
The project is presented in partnership with Phillips de Pury & Company, the internationally renowned auction house.

Their aim is to bring cutting-edge work to a stunning outdoor setting, freeing contemporary art from its usual gallery confines. They wish to inspire artists who normally do not work within this context, challenging them to produce something truly unique and experimental.
